Why List Here?

Uncertain about whether you should list here? Following are answers to some common concerns:

Q: I don’t have an internship or job opening now.

A: No problem. You can profile your organization and list opportunities as they become available. Site visitors often find it useful to “browse” organizations even when they do not have current job openings or other training opportunities.

Q: I’m not sure if my organization “does” child and family policy.

A: We cover a wide range of settings–from business to non-profits to government to academia. In addition, although some site visitors have very specific interests (e.g., in child care, fatherhood, teenage pregnancy, poverty, or welfare reform), other site visitors want to gain general experience designing, implementing or evaluating policies or to develop business acumen. And, child and family policy can mean different things to different people, from employment policy to population policy to work-life issues to child- or family-focused prevention and more.

Q: I’m only looking for seasoned professionals.
Q: I’m only looking for “fresh faces”.
Q: I want to list a tenure-track position in academia.
Q: I want to locate students for an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

A: All of these are possible on this site. We cover the full child and family policy career – from “just getting started” to well established.

Q: I don’t have much time. How long will this take?

A: We’ve designed the database with the value of your time in mind. Once you establish an account, you can log into the system whenever you want to post a job, volunteer position, internship or fellowship opportunity. You can “save” old listings–remove them from public viewing but keep them available for you to edit and re-post in the future. Even when you do not have a current job opening or internship opportunity, site visitors can learn about the basic mission of your organization.

Q: How much will you charge me to list on this site?
Q: How much do you charge visitors to access information on the site?

A: Nothing (on both counts).

Q: Will you sell my information to others?

A: No.
